Many Italian houses seem almost sensual, shrouded with walls of orange, ocher and other earth tones. But in Bellagio, on the second street up the hill from Lake Como, there's a simple, yet magnificent, brilliant red house that stands out from all the others not only because of its commanding position along the street, but especially because of its color. Encircled by a halo of green from the Italian cypress and other trees that surround it, it seems almost a curiously suspended Christmas ornament even in the heat of a very steamy June afternoon. This painting was accepted into the 2003 Fine Art Juried Exhibition at the Schacknow Museum of Fine Arts in Plantation, FL.
